Because both women and men need help.
Breakup and divorce often poses significant mental and physical health challenges for both men and women.
Studies show that in 69% of cases where divorce is not a joint decision, it is initiated by women, often leaving men blindsided and unprepared for the emotional turmoil that follows. This unexpected upheaval can lead to a decline in men's mental and physical health.
Women, on the other hand, frequently experience emotional distress, such as grief and anxiety, while adjusting to life after marriage. Financial instability can also be a concern for women, particularly for those who relied on their spouse's income, leading them to re-enter the job market. Socially, both men and women face changes in their support networks, which can contribute to feelings of isolation.
Despite these challenges, both men and women can find strength and resilience, leading to personal growth and new opportunities after divorce.
Divorce is a challenging experience, especially for men who often face unique struggles. Societal biases and norms pressure men to remain stoic and suppress their emotions, leading to feelings of isolation and overwhelming stress. Men typically have a smaller pool of trusted friends to lean on and are less likely to talk about their issues openly. Recognizing these challenges, I am also committed to supporting men through this difficult time.
